More on Cell Phones
I got my Treo 600 on Monday. It is a generic unlocked GSM model. But it doesn’t like my (very old) SIM (boo!). So I’m in a little bit more of a rush to get a new account (with a carrier with better data plans), and get a new SIM, and port my number over. It’s still porting (boo!). Maybe it’ll be done by the time I wake up tomorrow. I still need to find a decent case/holster for it. I’ll write up a short review after I have actually gotten to use it.
The Motorola MPx looks really cool too.

Verizon was rated #1 by Consumer Reports this year, though Matt tells me Cingular is now the largest network since they bought AT&T. I’ve been very happy with Sprint, although they don’t provide great coverage right where I live (but it’s fine from a few miles north on up).

Verizon, without a doubt has the best coverage, but the Treo is not available for them so that’s a moot point.
The only carriers that have reasonable data plans are Sprint and T-Mobile. Since I wanted to stick with GSM, I’ve ported my number over to T-Mobile.

Grrrrr.. double posted from my phone. It opened the last page I was at … which was the post to this entry. I’ll have to ensure it doesn’t happen in the future (when I redo my website).
