Quickies
A couple of quick thoughts:
- World of Warcraft: Kicks ass. Err.. a little too much actually. Eats up hours of time even when I’m “just playing out my bonus”.
- Digital Fortress: Doesn’t kick as much ass. More of a story than previous works (”Da Vinci Code”), but uhh.. maybe it’s because I know the subject better (computers, cryptography, etc.) but the mistakes detract from the story. The description of public key encryption was incorrect. Visual representations of firewalls failing? X11 spelled out? And who needs to leave ports open for X11? And the whole premise of having a universal cracker. How does it brute force decrypt something without having the algorithm. Those are just the first couple of things I could think of off the top of my head.
- My Dyson: Kicks ass. Except for one thing. You need to unwind the entire cord before you can use the hose. Which is kinda annoying when the outlet is 3 feet from the mess.
- The weather: It’s freaking cold. It should never be this cold in SoCal. Cold should be 68 degrees, not 48 degrees. Brr.

Hey, I love the cold. It is friggin’ cold though. In fact, I think it feels colder here than where it’s snowing. I used to always tell people that when I came back from Idaho for winter break.
I’ve heard a lot of personal rave reviews over that vacuum . Something’s wrong with our society, or else I’m missing something big. It’s a vacuum cleaner. I mean, even if it polishes your carpet, is it really “that” great?
