Google Video

Video on the Internet has really taken off over the last year (with Time basically featuring YouTube as Person of the Year).

One of the coolest collection of videos is the Google engEdu set of videos. They’re basically recordings of seminars/presentations given at Google. It’s like college all over again, except you can fast forward and rewind. And even skip the ones that aren’t personally interesting.

The Google Research Blog has posted their top 20 videos. I’d previously seen the winner (the DARPA Grand Challenge one) and enjoyed it immensely.

Google Video also has many other interesting videos like presentations for various user groups and conferences.

I’d say schools/colleges/universities should start archiving videos of lectures online, but knowing how picky some professors are regarding audio recordings/lecture notes and copyright issues, it’ll probably be some time before it happens.
