For some strange voyeuristic (that’ll get me some funky Google search referrals) reason, I really enjoy those random threads/topics/groups where people post pictures of stuff they have.
For instance, there is the Flickr group The Items We Carry.
Another is the BladeForums thread EDC - What’s in Your Pocket(s).
Now oddly enough, there are different trends for these different groups. The Flickr group seems to have a lot of cameras (reasonable), iPods/iPhones, Moleskins and other notebooks. I’m not sure I get the Moleskin/notebook thing. The BladeForums thread obviously has a bunch of knives, but other popular items include guns, watches, and flashlights.
Other similar threads are:

- MacNN has an “Official Macbook picture thread” - similar demographic as the Ar’s thread above.
- CandlePower Forums’ EDC - What’s in Your Pocket(s) - similar demographic as BladeForums
The car forum’s usually have picture threads too. For some reason, I seem to enjoy the smaller gadgety picture threads more.
